The Scottish Game Fair will be returning to the beautiful Scone Parklands this July. The much anticipated three-day event attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year and is organised by the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT). The fair is a celebration of all things conservation-related. The funds raised from the fair are donated to wildlife conservation science.
In 2019, the Scottish Game Fair is set to feature an impressive line up of events, competitions and traders, making it a great day out for all the family. Various activities and country sports are available for all ages, including clay shooting, fishing and gundogs. There is set to be over 300 stands attending the Scottish Game Fair this year, where visitors can grab a bargain, learn more about their local countryside and test their hand at a range of competitions.
What’s On At Scottish Game Fair
The final programme of events for 2019 has not yet been finalised. However, it is anticipated to be packed full of main ring events, competitions and activities. The Dog ‘n’ Duck Show, Tug o’ War, Terrier Racing and many other tournaments are already set to return this July, after being highly popular at the 30th event last year.
The shooting area is one of the top attractions every year and gives everyone of all abilities the chance to try out clay shooting.
The fishing area was revamped in 2017 and fishing enthusiasts can expect an enhanced programme of fishing events and guest speakers. The Main Ring will see many different entertainers and events take to the stage, including dog shows and local pipe bands.
The Cookery Theatre
The new look Cookery Theatre will once again be celebrating Scotland’s wealth of wild cuisine. Natural local produce that has been harvested, foraged or hunted is used by Scotland’s leading game chefs to create delicious meals.
Visitors will head home inspired and with brand new cooking techniques to try out for themselves. The full line up for the three-day cookery theatre in 2019 is not yet released but is sure to focus on favourites such as venison, game and sausages.
